image6 (2)I was fortunate enough to have been chosen as Key Makeup Artist for the Adam Zohar S/S 2019 show during Bridal Fashion Week. Our team was sponsored by ECRU New York and FarmHouse Fresh to create non-bridal makeup looks for the runway show at popular West Village venue, Industria. To compliment his audacious approach to bridal, Zohar’s venue featured a warehouse atmosphere with an open garage door leading onto the street, where onlookers passing by were able to watch the show along with guests seated inside on rustic steel benches. Adam  is  an  innovative  international designer  and  leader  in  bridal  and  evening  wear  that  exudes  femininity  and  elegance.  The  use  of  unexpected  materials,  remarkable  creativity,  plentiful  designs  and  unconventional  cuts,  along  with  a  close  attention  to  every  detail.

After meeting with Adam and seeing the collection (which included dresses with nipple bearing bodices), I could tell that this wouldn’t be a traditional bridal show. The models at the fitting were styled with white Dr. Martens boots, and some were given nose septums – now that’s edgy AF! We decided that even though the models would be wearing these incredible gowns, we just wanted them to look like cool girls getting married. Adam was insistent that the skin had a slightly wet appearance, I agreed, it complimented his aesthetic.

A little nipple never hurt anyone :-)

Because great makeup starts with great skincare, the makeup artists prepped the models’ faces with Crow Catcher Serum around the eyes, and Spotted Leaving Lightening Serum all over the rest of the face. We let the serums absorb for 10 minutes, then applied a layer of Three Milk Moisturizer for maximum hydration. The combination of the serums and the moisturizer gave the models a fresh, healthy glow. Whoopie Cream! Hydrating Lip Balm was also used to soften the lips. The artists then used light foundation and concealer to even out complexion and cover blemishes. Next, ECRU New York lipsticks were used as both lip color and blush; their lipsticks come in an array of shades, and are a multi-use product. Two coats of Runway Lash mascara were added to the top lash line only, and the look was finished by adding FarmHouse Fresh Honey-Magnolia Body Oil to the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin for sheen.
